Basic Hand Techniques (Soo Ki)

Condition and strengthen the upper body. By executing hand strikes repeatedly, students acquire increased stamina and the balance and coordination needed to strike with precision, fluidity and power.

  1. Closed and open hand striking methods including palm, fist, wrist, finger striking techniques and specialized hand training techniques.
  2. Pressure point striking.
  3. Striking using arm and shoulder.
  4. Blocking and parrying.

Basic kicking techniques (Johk Sool) condition and strengthen the lower body. By executing kicks repeatedly, students acquire increased stamina and the balance and coordination needed to kick with precision, fluidity and power.

  1. Foundational kicks.
  2. Spinning kicks.
  3. Jumping kicks.
  4. Combination kicks.
  5. Double leg kicks.
  6. Pressure point kicking.
  7. Specialty kicking.

Joint-locking Techniques

Allows you to overcome a much stronger adversary. Using these techniques with balance and speed, a student can joint-lock, control an opponent. When performed properly, these techniques use the weakness of your opponent’s body position, joints and vital points against themselves.

  1. Restraining methods.
  2. Joint breaking techniques.
  3. Combination joint locking.
  4. Control and redirection techniques.
  5. Arresting and "come along" techniques.

Throwing and Grappling Techniques

Allows you to control an adversary attack. Using these techniques with balance and speed, a student can block, control and throw an opponent taking them to the floor, then using grappling techniques to restrain them. Performed properly, these techniques focus on the weakness of your opponent¹s body joints and vital pressure points.

  1. Body throws.
  2. Projection throws.
  3. Leg throws.
  4. Pressure point grappling.
  5. Grappling defence.
  6. Wrestling techniques.
  7. Ground fighting.
